WordPress Dashboard
The first screen you will see after login is the WordPress Dashboard, it displays the administrator's area,
which is full of features and different kind of functions. You can start building your website from here. You can make a new
post from here, you can manage your widgets or menus, can save drafts, and many more.
Dashboard also gives you an overview of what's happening in the website or blog, It gives information about all the activities
going on in the site.
Look at the picture below, its a dashboard. You can see different categories listed there which we will discuss one by one.
Dashboard Menu
The menu in the left side is called the Dashboard Menu. It is a navigation menu which navigate the user through various options
like posts, media library, pages, comments, appearance options,
plugins, users, tools and settings.
Look at the table below to know a little more about it :

| Plugins | These are special features/programs to increase capabilities of the website. |
| Users | All the information about your site's users. |
| Tools | The settings of the wordpress. |
Screen Options
You will find this option in the top-right corner of the dashboard. No need to worry about, it is just a segment with
some radio buttons, asking you to choose the widgets you want to show in your dashboard. Just check/uncheck whatever you want,
like 'welcome', 'At a glance', etc. It just give you an option to customize the dashboard according
to your needs. The widgets you add in your website, will be shown here too in the list.
Welcome
This segment is the important one, it gives you many options to customize your site or to completely change the
theme of your it. It also gives you an option to directly access your posts and to view your website and to manage
widgets and commenting also. We will go in details later. These are easy and simple functions of wordpress.
Quick Draft
It is a useful widget which allows you to quickly save something came in your mind which you want to add in a post, or want to remember. It is basically saving notes and tips to use later. It is just like adding sticky notes and short notes about useful things.
WordPress Events and News
It displays the latest news about wordpress such as latest software version, updates, alerts,
news regarding the software etc. from the official WordPress blog.
Activity
It displays latest comments on the blog and recent published posts. You can also manage comments from here.
At a Glance
It gives you an overview of your blog like total number of posts, number of pages, comments, etc. It also displays the wordpress version you are using and the theme also.
